President Acceptance Letter

Dear Fellow Alums and Friends:

Thank you for electing me President of the National Camden Academy Alumni Association. This is a great honor for me as your first elected female president. As such, the first thing you will notice is that we have a new website that will keep you updated on our activities. Please visit our website at Since my election, I have also been very busy trying to assess our financial situation and determine practical goals for implementation. Based on my communication with many of you and various consultants, please allow me to share my goals for you and for our great association:

To build up the membership by organizing new chapters. We must increase our membership if we are to remain a viable organization. Our members have great ideas for helping us fulfill our dream by placing a building "on the hill," and this will be an inclusive administration seeking the best practices and ideas from everyone who wishes to participate.

To encourage members to continue active membership through the already established chapters

To recruit new members through a friends organization - persons who might not have attended Camden Academy but who is interested in our organizational activities.

Toward this end, a new chapter has been established in Mobile, Alabama and Rev. Horace Young, Class of 1953, is the President. They have approximately 15 members! In fact, they are planning to host our next Annual Meeting in the beautiful city of Mobile, Alabama in July 2013. Look for more information on this event.

Congratulations to Alum Eddie Dees for the excellent Newsletter he published and disseminated; and for the Eighty plus Birthday Extravaganza which was held in Camden precently for seniors over the age of 80. This event was well attended and participants felt much appreciation for service to their communities.

Again, thanks for placing your confidence in my leadership. I will need your help if we are to succeed. My email address is Please feel free to contact me at any time. You can be assured that I will respond to you in a timely manner.
